Home-made pizza margherita

Definitely, this is everyone's favourite. However, the first time you serve this pizza to your child it may not be delighted.  Yet, if this is a home-made pizza with pure ingredients, then it will certainly love it. It is a complete meal and can be enjoyed at home or on an excursion.

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 250 g white flour
  • 150 ml water
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon dry yeast

 

For the filling

  • 250 g grated cheese [Gouda or mozzarella type]
  • Home-made tomato sauce

 

Preparation

  • Mix all ingredients of the dough in the food processor until you have a good dough. Add a little water or flour, if necessary (if the dough is sticky or not homogenised).
  • Leave the dough in a warm place to rest for 20 minutes.
  • With your hands spread the dough on a small metallic baking tray with your hands.
  • Prepare the sauce: grate 2 tomatoes to a pulp and bring them to boil until they absorb their juices. Add some salt and sugar for flavour. If you want, add some grated onion or garlic.
  • Spread the sauce over the dough.
  • Add the grated cheese.
  • Preheat the oven to 200o Celsius.
  • Bake the pizza for 20 minutes
